Our place in Maui

Man, was I in need of a proper vacation. My husband and I tend to do a lot of little trips that are relatively close to home. He worked a regular 9-5 job, while I am a freelance employee, so I don’t like going too far just in case I get an option for a big job. That is something I intend to work on a bit more in 2020, but until then, I was uber excited about our first real vacation in far too long.

I love a tropical destination, and there is just something special about the Hawaiian Islands. I haven’t had the opportunity to visit all the islands, but of the ones that I have been to, Maui is my favorite. It’s the perfect combination of things to do & still very natural.

Part of what has always made my visits to Maui so exceptional has been the place we stay. Honua Kai Resort & Spa is the perfect place to stay with your girls, with your family, with your friends, basically anyone who wants an incredible place to stay with all the best amenities. I don’t know if all the suits/rooms have the same staples in them, we used the same booking company both times we’ve stayed with them. Our rooms came with beach chairs, sand toys & umbrellas as well as toiletries and spices. The resort itself has 10 floors & 3 towers, a gym, a spa, 3 pools, 5 hot tubs, communal barbecues, an onsite restaurant (which also means, hello pool service), as well as an on site coffee/gelato shop.

Lemme show you around the place.

The bedrooms were nothing spectacular, but each of them either had a window with a view, or in our case, a door with access to our large balcony.

The bathrooms are beautifully designed and big! They came fully stocked with fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and bar of soap.

The kitchen was just as beautifully designed and updated as the restrooms. Has everything you never knew you needed in your own kitchen.

We had a great big table off the kitchen if you didn’t want to eat at the bar. And if you didn’t want to eat inside. You could simply open the entire place up and eat at the table on the balcony.

And this view is what really put the icing on the cake for me. I enjoyed waking up and having a fresh cup of coffee here every morning. And the sunsets at night are unlike any I have every seen.

If you have plans to go to Maui any time soon, keep an eye out for my next post. I’ll share some of our favorite things to do and places to eat.
